About Powerday
Our people are at the heart of what we do at Powerday and are what makes us so successful. Because of this we want you to know who you’re working with when you hire a skip, tip your waste or when you want to find out more about what we do.
Powerday is an independent family business providing responsible waste management services to help our clients manage their resources sustainably. We are proud of our role in helping reduce the environmental impact of the UK waste and of using our sustained growth to support our local communities.
Responsible Waste Management
Powerday provides market-leading waste management services to construction and demolition companies, local authorities and commercial businesses operating in London and across the UK. With seven sites across North, South, East and West London, we also provide local skip hire services to householders, builders and other businesses looking for competitively priced skips in the vicinity as well as third party tipping for licensed waste carriers.
Our well-maintained, tracked fleet of over 129 Euro 6 and ULEZ compliant vehicles are working across the Capital 7 days a week. We deal with waste safely, efficiently and compliantly delivering sustainable solutions for all our clients. We operate the largest Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) in Southern England from sites in Willesden Junction, Enfield and Canning Town which are supported by waste transfer stations in Bermondsey, Brixton, Heathrow and Wimbledon. Combined, these facilities are licensed to process over 3.5 million tonnes of waste each year.
Managing resources
sustainably
We maximise recycling and recover residual material, delivering 100% diversion from landfill for all non-hazardous waste. We make the best use of the resources we receive and are one of the UK’s biggest private producers of refuse derived fuels which are supplied to energy-from-waste plants across the UK and Europe. We are continually exploring more sustainable solutions for clients’ waste ensuring the maximum value is derived from these resources.
As well as helping our clients manage their resources more sustainably, we are working to reduce our carbon emissions and the wider environmental impact of the UK’s waste. Our high standards across the board are reflected in our many certifications, memberships and awards including ISO 14001 environmental management, ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 45001 health & safety management. Our History
Powerday was founded in North West London in 1977 by our Chairman, Mick Crossan. With the help of a long standing and valued team, we have developed significantly since then. Whilst remaining an independent family business, we have achieved consistent organic growth and an unrivalled presence across London. From our humble beginnings, Powerday is now a £50million+ business employing around 240 people.

Powerday in
The Community
With an ethos of ‘giving back’ installed by our Chairman and founder Mick, and shared strongly by our CEO Edward, we use our sustained growth to support our local communities.
In particular we believe strongly that the lives of disadvantaged young Londoners can be improved through sport and opportunity. Our work in the community, delivered through the Powerday Foundation and Powerday Academy, as well as our core business, is now as important to our company as our waste management services.
