Lewisham gateway
Lewisham Gateway is a mixed-use development for Balfour Beatty plc where MadiganGill Logistics have been providing a full cycle of services including Traffic Management, Web based Delivery Management, Lifting and Hoist Supervision and Operations, Welfare Management, and Waste Management.
The development comprises of 530 homes for rent, 119 co-living units, a cinema and gym, office facilities, as well as retail and restaurant areas. It will also create dedicated ‘green spaces’ for the community to enjoy.
MadiganGill have worked closely with Powerday delivering effective recycling and waste management on the development, providing 100% waste diversion from landfill. Powerday has been instrumental in managing the baling and collection of used temporary protection sheets back to Protec International Ltd’s fully integrated manufacturing and recycling centre, where they are shredded, washed, and recycled before being used on site again.

Gallions Phase 2B
Gallions Phase 2B, lead by our client Telford Homes, will bring a unique community and fresh way of living to the Royal Docks. The £70m development will consist of 267 apartments looking to be completed in 2023. Since the project started in 2020, Powerday has provided general waste and plasterboard skips. In the last 12 months we have taken away over 470 tonnes of waste from site with a 60% recycling and reuse rate, and 40% energy recover rate, with zero waste to landfill.
Telford Homes have released their carbon footprint roadmap to reduce their carbon emissions to zero by 2030. We are helping them with this with our carbon neutral fleet.

Ebury Bridge Victoria
Ebury Bridge in Victoria, London is a groundbreaking development delivering 781 new homes, of which more than 50% will be affordable. Our client BOUYGUES UK is the main contractor on the first phase of the £110 million project. Since the project started in October 2021, Powerday has partnered with Bouygues to deliver a mixture of 7 and 12-yard skips, CoSHH bins, compactors and road sweepers, with a 100% recycling and recovery rate, delivering zero waste to landfill.

Protec Closed loop Scheme
Powerday is proud be the official partner of temporary protection manufacturers, Protec International Ltd, within London. Together we’re successfully reducing carbon emissions within the construction industry, by recovering used Proplex from our clients. We collect and store the material at our facilities, which is then baled and sent back to Protec’s ClosedLoop Remanufacturing Scheme in Sheffield.
Our latest success saw us send 30 bales of waste plastic protection straight back into their manufacturing process, creating 18,000 new ProplexRE temporary protection sheets, ready for re-distribution back to the construction industry.

EDCITY DEVELOPMENT
The EdCity development is known as the most ‘exciting moment for the White City Community and beyond’. We are working with the main contractor on site, Bowmer & Kirland. We are taking away around 10 tonnes of waste per week currently, ensuring 100% of waste is diverted from landfill.

The Warburg Institute
The Warburg Institute is one of the leading research institutions associated with the University of London. Quinn London Ltd are working on the £9.2m project to deliver the 72 week refurbishment. Since the project started in January 2022, Powerday has partnered with Quinn to remove around 11.5 tonnes a month, delivering zero waste to landfill with an 86% recycling and reuse rate. Quinn have been reusing existing materials from the strip out in the current refurbishment, and provided a local recycling scheme for reclaimed materials such as office equipment and timber to other London Universities.

AYLESBURY ESTATE
Hill Group UK is working in partnership with Southwark Council and Notting Hill Genesis to deliver 229 new homes, this is part of the first phase of this landmark regeneration which will eventually deliver 3,500 new homes. This is the largest estate regeneration in Europe and we are proud to be supporting them with their full waste management on site.

The brentford Project
The Brentford Project is a new riverside town centre in the heart of west London. We are working on the Ballymore development, taking away 70 tonnes of waste per week with a recycling and reuse rate of 81% and 100% diversion from landfill. Helping Ballymore to reduce their carbon emissions, we are supplying 3-5 compactors a week to reduce road usages to transport waste from their site to our recycling facility in Willesden.

Community wood recycling
In the 2021/22 financial year we rescued 124 tonnes of wood waste, up 30% from the previous financial year, by working with Community Wood Recycling. Of the 124 tonnes, 77.4 tonnes were reused, 3.3 tonnes used as firewood and 43.5 tonnes recycled, saving 62 tonnes of CO2e! We understand the importance of sustainable waste management and circular economy, and that’s why we work with companies like Community Wood Recycling to ensure the waste we collect from our clients’ sites goes as far as it can.

GREENWICH SQUARE
With the aim of delivering affordable, quality housing for the community in east Greenwich, construction company Mace gathered stakeholders for the £250m project. The scheme won Gold in the 2015 What House? award for the best mixed-use development.

In close proximity to Heathrow Airport, when local residents discovered nearly a mile long stretch of fly tipped waste just off Colnbrook bypass – where the M4 and M25 meet – it was down the local council to organise to prompt clearance of the illegally tipped waste.

HEATHROW PROJECT
Powerday has been working at Heathrow since 2010, taking all waste away from direct contractors as well as all subcontractors including all construction waste arising at the airport, COSHH waste and waste from welfare facilities including cess and food.
