Project Overview
The £8 billion Brent Cross development program ranks among Europe’s largest and most ambitious urban regeneration projects. It plans to deliver 6,700 new homes and workspaces for approximately 25,000 people, along with the newly completed Thameslink station, schools, parks, and leisure facilities. Committed to sustainability, the project aims to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030.
Our Client Munnelly Group, a specialist in logistics and construction, plays a key role in the project’s infrastructure and development phases. Their responsibilities include managing site logistics, overseeing traffic, and ensuring the smooth execution of construction activities, particularly in Brent Cross Town.
Plot 13
As part of the broader Brent Cross Cricklewood regeneration, Plot 13, features six residential apartment blocks ranging from 8 to 16 storeys. Inspired by traditional London mansion blocks, the design blends lower brick-faced buildings with taller structures that incorporate modern materials like light-coloured glass and reinforced concrete. Construction of Plot 13 is set to finish by summer 2025.
The project prioritises maintaining high environmental standards throughout construction, with a strong focus on sustainable waste management to meet its sustainability goals.
Powerday’s Role in the Project
We partnered with Munnelly Group to deliver sustainable and efficient waste management solutions, supporting the project’s zero-to-landfill goal and significantly reducing the carbon footprint of construction activities.
Powerday collects, recycles, and processes construction and demolition waste within the redevelopment area. Using recycling technologies, we process materials like concrete, wood, and metals in an environmentally responsible way.
Challenges & Solutions
Managing waste for a large-scale, multi-phase project requires seamless coordination between contractors and waste management providers. Powerday addresses this challenge with its advanced materials recovery facility (MRF) and efficient transportation systems.
