South London
Waste brought to our Croydon waste transfer station is bulked and transported to our state-of-the-art materials recycling facilities (MRFs) in Willesden Junction and Enfield. This helps us minimise waste miles and transport emissions whilst providing the highest levels of service to our clients.
We separate as many recyclables as possible with the remainder of the waste being processed as refuse-derived-fuel and sent to waste-to-energy plants across the UK and Europe. This enables us to deliver 100% diversion from landfill for all non-hazardous waste, to our wide-ranging client base whichever locations is used.
Croydon Redevelopment
Powerday is progressing with the redevelopment of its Croydon site on Beddington Lane, following the successful approval of planning permission for a new state-of-the-art Materials Recycling Facility (MRF), delivered in partnership with Turmec. The facility will process materials from sites south of the river and support the continued expansion of services across the South of England.
Marking Powerday’s fourth processing plant and third MRF in London, the project represents a significant milestone in the company’s long-term growth strategy. Phase one of the works is nearing completion, including demolition and site preparation by The Shannon Group, with the next phase focusing on clearing the main site and repurposing existing structures.
Over the next 12 months, the programme will deliver full structural and concrete works ahead of plant installation, scheduled for completion in Spring 2027. During this period, operations will temporarily relocate to a nearby site on Beddington Lane to ensure continuity of service while development progresses.
