POWERDAY ANNUAL TITRA CLEAR-UP

For over 10 years, Powerday has supported The Island Triangle Residents’ Association (TITRA) community clear-up days.

On Saturday 27th May, local residents and Powerday came together to once again clear litter and rubbish from the streets, footpaths and alleyways. Powerday provided a team of workmen and dustcart to collect more than 19.5 tonnes of waste.

TITRA spokesperson, who represents the 220 former railway workers’ cottages adjacent to the Powerday Materials Recycling Facility, commented: “This was another hugely successful clear-up day. The weather was kind to us and we had a fantastic turn-out. The streets, footpaths and alleyways are looking so much smarter now. The Powerday team who came over with the dustcart couldn’t have got more stuck-in as if they were clearing their own neighbourhood, rather than helping with ours.”

”It’s a brilliant collaboration and always a pleasure to do it”, John Mckenna from Powerday added. “We’ve been helping with these clear up days since 2011, and it is very satisfying to see everyone help out and we’re happy to play our part”.
