Best Community Recycling Initiative Award Goes To…
19th May 2017

Simon Little presented the Best Community Recycling Initiative Award to Community Repaint yesterday at the Let’s Recycle Awards for Excellence.
Powerday sponsored the award which recognises the achievements of charities, social enterprises and community groups in improving recycling and waste management.
Community Repaint won for their initiative ‘Reusing Paint to Colour the Community’. In 2016 the network of paint reuse schemes prevented over 464,000 litres of paint from going to waste and distributed over 332,000 litres to community groups, charities and those in need.
Simon, Sales & Marketing Director for Powerday says: “Congratulations to Community Repaint for a great win. We understand the challenges of creating value in difficult waste streams – we work with local authorities to recycle fly tipped waste and waste from household waste recycling centres to increase recycling performance and reduce costs. This is a great initiative and worthy winners”.
Twelve awards in total were presented at this year’s event hosted by Gethin Jones and held at the Landmark Hotel, London.
