Crowned Subcontractor And Waste Business Of The Year In Double Award Whammy Win!

Powerday is delighted to announce that we won two awards in one day!

First up was the Awards for Excellence at the Landmark Hotel in Marylebone over lunchtime where we won Waste Transfer and Skip Hire Business of the Year 2021.  The award celebrates those with high recycling and landfill diversion rates, strong heath & safety performance, vehicle maintenance and operating standards as well as sustainability achievements.  Our win recognised our extensive geographical expansion in the last twelve months, our efforts to recycle hard-to-recycle materials and our strong health & safety culture whilst still continuing to integrate sustainability across our business with the launch of our Sustainability and Wellness Manifesto.

In the evening, we headed to the National Building and Construction Awards at the Hilton Wembley where we were crowned Subcontractor of the Year 2020/21.  Open to any trade, supplying any service to main contractors on any project for any amount, anywhere in the UK, this was a hard-fought battle in which we again, came out top.  Our win recognised our continued approach to service and operational excellence, and for not just achieving sustained growth but for using it to the benefit of the local community.  We demonstrated innovations across all business areas including through expansion of our hazardous waste services and transportation of waste by water, as well as negotiation of Brexit-proof refuse derived fuel contracts and development of our bespoke mobile phone App, Powerday PAL.  We also demonstrated how we have used this growth to expand work to help improve the lives of disadvantaged young Londoners, both through Powerday Foundation and Powerday Academy.
