Every Pound Spent With Us In 2018/19 Contributed £0.17 To The Community
12th June 2020

Delivering social value has been part of the ethos since Powerday’s inception. As we have grown and developed, we have sought to better understand where our efforts should be placed and formalise structures to provide the best social value.
Last year we signed up to the Social Value Portal which provides an online service by which we can measure our contribution to society. This nationally accepted framework uses the Themes, Outcomes and Measures (TOMs) framework which gives a financial value to social impact.
As a result of this development, we are delighted to be able to share our first social value report, a retrospective for the financial year ending 31st July 2019. We are proud to have delivered £9.2m of social value in 2018/19 meaning that every pound our clients spent with us in this period contributed £0.17 to the wider community.
Edward Crossan says: “At Powerday, we use our sustained growth to support our local communities. In particular we believe strongly that the lives of disadvantaged young Londoners can be improved through sport and opportunity. Our work in the community is now as important to our company as our waste management services. We are very pleased to be able to share this initial report with you and are proud of the contribution we have been able to make so far.”
We look forward to sharing our next report, for the financial year 2019/20, with you in the autumn. In the meantime, you can download our social value summary 2018/19.
