Powerday Are Proud To Congratulate The First Four Employees To Graduate From The Powerday Academy

We would like to congratulate the first four employees to graduate from The Powerday Academy, the training and development programme we launched in 2020.

The graduates – Chloe Arthur, Florence Cronin, Olivia Glasgow and Nicholas Phillips – from across the business completed their Level 3 Business Administration Diploma’s earlier this year.  The 18-month programme upskills them with communication and administration skills to enable them to excel in their roles and progress to the next level.  One of these newly qualified, Chloe, has already advanced to a new role following the recent retirement of Mary Stewart after 27 years of service in our finance team. Similar trajectories are in place for the remaining three.

With a culture of growing, developing and promoting talent from within, we set up The Powerday Academy in 2020 to deliver career support and training and make our team the best possible version of themselves. We want all our employees to benefit from a healthy and nurturing work environment with long-term fulfilling careers, whilst ensuring that we have the best trained and motivated team in our sector.  The Powerday Academy achieves this through four strands: creating leaders for the future, nurturing and training from within, apprenticeships to benefit our community, and the most recent development, a graduate training scheme.

Joint Managing Director, Liam Kearney says: “We are delighted to congratulate the first graduates from the Powerday Academy.  All four have worked hard to achieve this qualification, which for some is their first since leaving school.  This is a fantastic achievement and these individuals should be truly proud.  The Powerday Academy has already proved a huge success for both our employees and our business, we look forward to expanding the opportunities across all our sites and enabling each of our employees reaches their full potential”.

Powerday Academy was recently shortlisted for the MRW National Recycling Award Employer Initiative of the Year, the winner of which will be announced on 8th December.
