Fors Gold Shows Fleet Co2 Reduction
5th March 2018

Powerday has achieved the coveted FORS gold standard for the fourth consecutive year, having completed the extensive audit in January. The Freight Operators Recognition Scheme (FORS) programme pioneered in London by Transport for London is transforming fleet operations and performance across the UK. With our continued commitment to safety and efficiency in fleet management, Powerday is at the forefront of transport innovations.
During the audit, Powerday was assessed on our approach and policy delivery around driver health and safety and training. The auditor also assessed the development of our fleet, particularly with regards to operating cleaner greener vehicles, and how we actively promote the FORS scheme through events and client briefings.
The audit revealed that we had covered over 2.7million miles in 2017 collecting waste and distributing recycled materials. Whilst this was 40% more than 2016, in light of our continued growth, we had achieved a CO2 reduction of 15% over the period. This benefit to the environment is testament to the ongoing investment in the most efficient vehicles available.
Bill Cox, Transport Manager, Powerday commented: “We are very proud of the fleet we operate. We are committed to the highest standards when it comes to our drivers, their training and our service delivery. This gold accreditation summarises all those things so I delighted with it”.
