Green Apple Award Win
9th November 2017

Powerday is proud to announce that we have received a Green Apple Award 2017 for Sustainable Development.
The annual international campaign recognises and rewards environmental best practice around the world and is supported by the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institution for Wastes Management and other independent bodies.
Powerday’s win was for the company’s construction worker programme with social enterprise Blue Sky that helps ex-offenders obtain the skills and employment opportunities to forge successful sustainable careers in the construction industry. Our first delegate started work in February 2017 at St George’s One Blackfriars development in Southwark. St George, part of the Berkeley Group, is a long standing client of Powerday and a keen supporter of this scheme.
Simon Little, Sales & Marketing Director, Powerday says: “We are delighted to have won this award and have our construction worker scheme recognised in this way. We are committed to supporting Londoners who haven’t had the best start in life and look forward to continuing to work with Blue Sky, HMP Onley and St George to expand this scheme and provide the opportunities for ex-offenders to turn their lives around.”

We were pleased to have awarded this contract to Powerday. They have delivered their services efficiently and reliably, achieved high recycling rates and 100% recovery, meeting our requirements throughout the project. They have been easy to deal with, reasonable and fair. We have been particularly impressed with their account management and waste reporting capabilities
