New Powerday Bins Cut Vehicle Movements At Hillingdon Site

Working with the London Borough of Hillingdon, Powerday has provided new purpose built 50 yard containers for the Harlington Road Waste site operated by Hillingdon.

Powerday, who was recently awarded a contract to provide haulage and treatment services for the site, has invested in these new containers so that the number of vehicle movements from the site are reduced by over 20%. This means a cut in the number of movements in the local area of over 350 every year.

Once the material arrives at Powerday’s Materials Recycling Facility, it is processed into a number of recycled products and any material left over is made into a refuse derived fuel (RDF) which means that it is all diverted from landfill.

John McKenna, Contract Manager, Powerday said: “We were very happy to bring forward this simple service change that makes a real difference to the local road users and continues to provide an efficient service for the Borough”.
