Powerday And Local Residents In Community Clean-up Day
6th May 2016

Last Saturday Powerday worked with the The Island Triangle Residents’ Association (TITRA) helping with the Spring community clear-up day. Local residents took advantage of the fine Bank Holiday weather and turned out to clear litter and rubbish from the paths and alleys close to the Powerday flagship plant at Old Oak Sidings. Powerday provided a team and dustcart to collect and then recycle the seven tonnes of material collected on the day.
TITRA, which represents the occupants of the 220 former railway workers’ cottages adjacent to the Powerday Materials Recycling Facility commented: “This was another hugely successful clear-up day. The weather was kind to us and we had a fantastic turn-out. The alleys are looking so much smarter now. The Powerday team who came over with the dustcart couldn’t have got more stuck-in if they were clearing their own neighbourhood, rather than helping with ours.”
”It’s a brilliant collaboration and always a pleasure to do it”, John Mckenna from Powerday added. “We’ve been helping with these clear up days for a few years now and it very satisfying to see everyone help out and we’re happy to play our part”.
