Powerday Charity Shop Raises £90,000 for Harlington Hospice
Powerday Charity Shop Surpasses £90,000 Raised for Harlington Hospice
Powerday is delighted to announce that its Waste Weekend charity shop initiative has now raised over £90,000 to support the invaluable work of Harlington Hospice in Hillingdon and the surrounding community.
Since opening its doors in January 2020, the charity shop has become a much-loved local hub where residents donate good-quality household items to be resold rather than discarded. The funds generated help Harlington Hospice continue its vital services for people living with serious or terminal illnesses, and their families. This latest milestone builds on previous achievements, following earlier reports that the shop had raised £65,000 for the hospice.
Powerday’s charity shop has consistently brought the community together around sustainability and generosity. Volunteers and local shoppers have played a key role in helping the shop reach this impressive total, while also promoting reuse and recycling across the borough.
John McKenna, who manages the Waste Weekend initiative for Powerday, said:
“We are overwhelmed by the continued support from residents in Hillingdon. Thanks to their generosity and the hard work of our volunteers, we’ve now raised over £90,000 – an incredible achievement for everyone involved.”
Funds raised through the charity shop directly contribute to the hospice’s ability to deliver compassionate care across a range of services including inpatient support, hospice-at-home, bereavement services, psychological and emotional wellbeing support, and much more.
Powerday remains committed to supporting Harlington Hospice through continued fundraising efforts and community collaboration.
