Powerday Supplying New Hoddesdon Gasification Plant
26th March 2015

Powerday will be supplying refuse derived fuel (RDF) for a new gasification plant to be built in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. The RDF will come from residual waste generated at Powerday’s new Enfield Materials Recycling Facility which is opening shortly in the Brimsdown area.
The Hoddesdon plant is the first of its kind in the UK to be built through third party investment including £30million from the Foresight Group and Green Investment Bank. The plant is being developed by AssetGen Partners and once operational in 2017 will take 90,000 tonnes of RDF and power over 7,000 homes each year.
Simon Little, Sales & Marketing Director, Powerday says: “One of our core objectives is investing in plant technology and contracts that ensure that the UK’s valuable resources are used to produce recyclable materials and quality renewable fuels in the UK. We are delighted to be supplying renewable fuels to this innovative plant.”
