Powerday Support Waste Collections for Notting Hill Carnival 2025

Powerday once again played a key role in keeping London clean over the August Bank Holiday, as our Willesden Junction facility welcomed the waste collected from this year’s Notting Hill Carnival.

Across the weekend, 38 dustcarts were deployed to manage the clear-up operation, with over 227 tonnes of waste in total collected from the streets of West London. The collections were carried out by Cory on behalf of Suez and The London Borough of Kensington & Chelsea’s Notting Hill Carnival clear up operation – and tipped directly at our Willesden Junction site – just a stone’s throw from the Carnival itself.

For many years, Powerday has been supporting the Carnival clean-up, providing a local and efficient tipping point that ensures waste is managed quickly and responsibly. Our facility’s proximity to the event means less time on the road for collection vehicles, helping reduce emissions and keep the operation running smoothly.

All waste tipped at our Willesden Junction site will now be processed through Powerday’s state-of-the-art recycling and recovery systems, diverting from landfill and ensuring maximum value is recovered from the materials.
