Powerday Supports Future Engineering Talent
Powerday recently welcomed T Level Engineering students from Stanmore College to our Head Office, where they presented an impressive industrial conveyor belt prototype developed in response to a real-world engineering brief.
The project, which has been several months in the making, challenged students to apply their technical knowledge, creativity and problem-solving skills to design and build a working conveyor belt system inspired by equipment used within the waste and recycling sector. The final presentations demonstrated not only strong engineering capability, but also professionalism, teamwork and a clear understanding of industry requirements.
Throughout the project, Powerday’s engineering and sustainability teams worked closely with the students, providing guidance, feedback and industry insight to help shape their designs and support their learning journey. The results exceeded expectations, with students showcasing innovative solutions and highly detailed working models that closely reflected real operational systems.

As part of the event, students received certificates recognising their achievements and were invited to return to Powerday for further learning opportunities with our engineering and operational teams.
