THE POWERDAY ACADEMY
Your waste, educating the future
Providing secure and
rewarding emplyment
With 77% of our staff from within a 15-mile radius of Old Oak Sidings, Powerday is proud to be a significant local employer. We believe that as such we have a responsibility to provide secure and rewarding employment whilst giving opportunities to those in our community who might be struggling to find work.
Working with our partners
To help us deliver against all of this, we launched the Powerday Academy in 2020. Working with our training partners, our aim is to deliver career support and training to the local community – both to our existing employees as well as school leavers from less advantaged backgrounds. We also want to guarantee that we have the best trained and motivated team within our sector, ensuring that our clients continue to benefit from innovation and service excellence.
The Powerday
Academy focus
We are designing and delivering bespoke training programs to enhance our leaders’ effectiveness and create our leaders for the future.
In line with our family values, we want to grow, nurture and train talent from within. Where talent is recognised early on, we are developing a career trajectory for employees supported with an appropriate learning path to develop their full potential.
We have developed our own apprenticeship scheme with technical, administrative and financial opportunities designed to have a positive social impact in the areas in which we operate.
Currently providing roles in sustainability, finance and IT, we enable our graduates to gain exposure to day-to-day business operations, practical skills and work experience, and be put through formal qualifications.
We want all our employees to benefit from a healthy and nurturing work environment with long-term fulfilling careers
