Powerday’s Sustainable Growth pillar centers on sustainability and innovation. Through closed-loop recycling, we have reused 46,897 tonnes of waste, while our Digital and AI Working Group is ensuring readiness for emerging technologies. Circular practices are also reducing impact, creating value, and supporting long-term growth.
As part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and operational excellence, we continue to explore opportunities to harness the impact of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) to drive efficiencies, reduce our environmental impact, and enhance both employee and customer experience.
Our Digitisation Working Group is central to this effort, identifying and delivering digital projects that align with our strategic and ESG objectives. During the reporting period, we successfully completed several exciting initiatives.
Powerday continues to expand its closed-loop recycling initiatives, ensuring valuable materials are kept in use for longer and re-enter the supply chain as high-quality products.
Through our partnership with Saint-Gobain, we recycle window glass into new glass containing up to 30% recycled content, diverting 57.43 tonnes to date and saving an estimated 40.20 tonnes of CO₂e. Our long-standing collaboration with
Timberpak has increased clean wood recycling by 23%, with 11,534 tonnes sent for reuse in chipboard manufacturing. We also support a circular approach to plastic through our Proplex recycling scheme with Protec, which collected and remanufactured 69.55 tonnes of correx sheeting in 2024/25.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate our commitment to circularity, reducing environmental impact, and creating sustainable value across our supply chain.
Powerday’s supply chain plays a critical role in driving our sustainability ambitions, and we continue to invest in strong, long-term partnerships that enhance circularity, efficiency and innovation.
Our collaboration with Indaver ensures high-quality RDF produced at our Old Oak Sidings and Enfield facilities is used to generate low-carbon heat and power, including supporting a groundbreaking greenhouse complex in Essex that grows 30,000 tonnes of tomatoes annually while creating 420 local jobs.
We also continue our 20-year partnership with Turmec, whose advanced recycling technologies keep our materials recovery facilities at the forefront of efficiency and resource optimisation. By working closely with trusted supply chain partners, we strengthen operational performance, reduce environmental impact and create value across the entire waste management ecosystem.
