Waste Wood Services
Powerday provides wood recycling services designed to make the best use of these materials. We ensure that waste wood is diverted from landfill and moved up the waste hierarchy with materials remaining in the UK.
We can provide storage and collection services for waste wood or materials can be tipped at our sites.
All wood waste is transported to our Materials Recycling Facilities in Willesden Junction or Enfield where it is separated from other materials and graded, using a combination of manual and machine processes.
EGGER Timberpak
Wood Recycling
Powerday provides wood recycling services designed to make the best use of the materials we receive. In 2025, we sent over 12,000 tonnes of wood to Timberpak, ensuring it was recycled into high-quality chipboard.
EGGER materials are found in countless products, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, offices, hotels and shops. EGGER is a full-range supplier for the furniture industry, interior design, wood construction, and wood based flooring industries.
Wood Recycling Services
Clean grade A wood waste, that we are not able to divert for reuse, is chipped and made into a number of different recycled products including in the production of composite panel boards.
The remaining mixed grade wood is also chipped and used for biomass fuels. The majority of this goes to Ridham Docks biomass plant in Kent as part of a long-term contract with MVV Environment.
In the last financial year, Powerday processed 64,191 tonnes of wood, 54,840 tonnes of it went to biomass plants and the other 9,351 was recycled into new product.
